About this cruise

The BIGGEST - Fish of the Sea - All Inclusive Style

The PREMIER tour of its kind, our whale shark excursion from La Paz includes a cruise of approximately 5 hours, and includes savory organic meals, a skilled and educated crew, and a marine biologist as snorkel leader. There is nothing to bring, we provide it all, a power support boat, bottled water, beer, sodas, an open bar, private bathrooms, fresh water showers, laundered towels, all the equipment needed. Truly a lifetime experience! Your tour includes ground transportation to and from Cabo, with convenient pick-up and drop-off services available in La Paz. On board our spacious sailing catamaran you will enjoy a light breakfast of fruit, yogurt and pastries as you set sail for the whale shark feeding area in the Sea of Cortez, near La Paz. After the captain’s orientation, your hostess, a marine biologist and snorkel leader, will share valuable information on the Sea of Cortez and pertinent details pertaining directly to whale sharks. When the first whale sharks are spotted, guests will board one of our companion dive boats, in order to get up close and personal with these large and magnificent creatures. Boarding ladders allow easy access to and from the water. Your snorkel leader will typically enter the water first to assist guests as needed. Every guest wanting to swim or snorkel alongside a whale shark will be encouraged to do so. Fresh water showers are immediately available when re-boarding Island Cat, as are fresh laundered towels, shampoo, soaps, etc. Once everyone has had their own personal experience with a whale shark, a delicious lunch of several prepared dishes will be served. Also included throughout the day are snacks, chips, salsas, guacamole, soft drinks, beer, bottled water, ice, and an open bar. Weather, and time-permitting, the sails will be raised for a dramatic return cruise to the resort at Costa Baja, near La Paz, where guests will board our private ground transportation for their return trip to Cabo. At guest request, your driver will stop at the mythological Hotel California, made famous by the Eagles popular song of the same name after which, you will be returned to your pick-up location in La Paz. Fruits and vegetables for the tour are sourced from local farms and delivered daily. There is organic chicken delivered daily and prepared on board in various ways, along with multiple side dishes. Snorkel gear, flotation vests, powered attendant boats, beach towels, layout mattresses, cushions and pillows are all included. (It is illegal to use our kayaks, paddle boards, or scuba equipment with whale sharks.)

For this you will be issued a three-year cash certificate that may be used the same as cash for the same or any future activities aboard Baja Cat, Pacifica, Marylee, or Lucky One.

If the weather is bad we will provide you with an alternative date that works within your travel plans in La Paz, provide an alternative excursion, and/or issue you an assignable, three-year cash certificate that may be used the same as cash for the same or any future activities aboard Baja Cat, Pacifica, Marylee, or Lucky One.

If maintenance issues, or anything within the normal control of the tour provider, prevents you from enjoying your booked cruise date, we will provide you with an alternative date that works within your travel plans, or refund your money completely.

Swimming with whale sharks is one of life’s great outdoor experiences. However, four federal agencies have overlapping jurisdiction over whale shark activities. Without prior notice, agencies close the whale shark feeding zone for research and review, even within the established legal whale shark season. If you have booked a whale shark encounter, and federal regulators fail to open the whale shark park according to the published seasonal opening, or if regulators close the whale shark zone without notice, you are rewarded with a two for one: 1. You will be provided with you a FREE prepaid whale shark certificate to use when the park is reopened. The whale shark certificate is a cash equivalent credit with a three-year expiration. It is fully assignable. It may be used for a future whale shark activity, or applied towards any of the other private charters or shared tours we provide. AND … 2. You will be provided with a Sea Lions and Remote Beaches activity on the date you are scheduled. We depart the dock as normal, and visit two or three remote beaches, bays, and coves where we snorkel with tropical fish over corals, explore beaches, put out kayaks, etc. We visit the sea lion colony of San Rafaelito, and provide an onboard chef, meals, beverages, an open bar, private bathrooms and showers, towels, snorkel equipment, a separate snorkel boat with guide, and reef-friendly sunscreen.

Guest damage to yachts, boats, and/or loss of equipment, will be charged to the booking guest purchaser at the tour provider's wholesale replacement cost plus 20%.

All ages are welcome.
